I can bearly wait to catch some fish!

Dear Dr. Julia,
Every time I walk over to da streem to go fishin, I am wondering if I should or should not perhaps get gollashes! That is because my bare Bear feet keep getting cold and wet. Would you please in all your wisdom and smarts advise me as ta what ta do?

Footsy,

Wilderness living is for the rough and rugged. Independence, self sufficiency, and fresh fish are just some of the perks.

If you are committed to this type of lifestyle, go on and get yourself a pair of wading boots, as galoshes are good for nothing more than puddles after a light rain.

But... are your cold, wet feet merely an indication of your Tender Foot-ness?
Ask yourself if you're cut out for this homesteading lifestyle.

Living in Chicago, you have an option that most bears simply don't - a big city that has several fine fish markets and an endless supply of deep-dish pizza.
