Missing Husband


Dr. Julia,

I often have dreams that my husband and I are out doing something and when it is time to go I can't find him anywhere, or sometimes the dream is just about him no longer being a part of my life. It is very scary! What does this mean, Dr. Julia?

Dear Leslie,

So simple. So plain to see. You love your husband, Leslie, and you feel that you'd be lost without him.

Or...

You know deep down in your heart that you drag your husband to places that he doesn't really want to go, like boring dinner parties or shopping for shoes.

You live in constant fear that you'll turn your back to reach for another shrimp-cocktail or to try on those pretty, red pumps (in a size seven) and next thing you know, your husband's flown the coop.

If the latter is the case (as I am assuming it is) there is an effective solution to stop these scary dreams of abandonment that plague you.

When you're out with your husband, make sure that the car keys are in your purse. And it wouldn't hurt to have an extra $30.00 for cab-fare, just to be on the safe side.
