Hugh Lofting, the author of Dr. Dolittle was a neighbor of mine. Well, not Hugh himself, but his offspring.

I found it to be inspirational, living so close to a neat piece of literature history, and always hoped that, somehow, it would affect my writing success. It didn't.

Oh well, I still like to brag about it anyway.
