MY phrase comes from Bambi and I say it all the time. I can't stand it for the family to sit and gossip and I keep telling them If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. I even do this to my Mom.

Why is it that some people find such humor in talking and or making fun of others? Even family members aren't safe. If I say something they tell me that "If we talk about you it means we are thinking of you and love you."
I say BLADERDASH!" They are just mean and hateful and it is NOT funny at all.

The saying "If you can't say anything nice..." goes hand in hand with "Treat others as you would have them treat you,? Imagine if the world actually chose to do these two simple things; how much better would our world be?
