My Girlfriend

Hello Dr. Julia.

I come to you today because I am extremely caught up in my own badness. I am falling for a girl who doesn't feel the same.

I try to spend time with her, something always comes up and plans change. We are boyfriend/girlfriend, but she doesn't even act like it.

I told her I am falling for her, she hangs up the phone, then two hours later tells me "I don't know her", and "I don't want her", and "if I cant handle her now then I cant handle her ever."

What does this mean even? It's like she has a split personality or something.

The choice is yours, Luke. Can you handle all the excitement of a yo-yo? This sure would be the time to decide.

The nice part about getting to know someone is that you're getting to know them. But if you don't pay attention to troubles now, you'll be in for it later on into your relationship... or marriage.

You have to ask yourself can you live with this person (or any person for that matter) and their personality whether or not it's "split".

Heed warning signs and red flags - no reason to be taken by surprise should a relationship prove toxic.
