I hear you're looking for someone to sweep you off your feet.
Bonnie Old School originally contacted Dr. Julia concerning
Dating after Divorce.
Old School writes again, but this time she wants to give up!Dr Julia.....this is old school again,
Looking for someone to sweep me off my feet.
This dating is not easy! Should I just stop looking and become a hermit?
Thanks again,

Hello Old School,A few weeks ago I wanted rice for my supper.
I looked in the pantry. I looked in the cupboard. I looked in the cabinets. I looked in the refrigerator.
I even enlisted others to help me scour the kitchen in search of rice.
I thought for sure rice was there somewhere, but despite the efforts, the rice was nowhere to be found.
I had to make do (or supper) without rice as my side. And it turned out just fine.
About a week later, I was about to get to cooking something up for supper. When I opened the pantry, guess what I saw right in front of my beak?
Why, that rice! There it was as plain as day sitting on the shelf!
This is no big secret. We all know that we always find what we're looking for the moment we stop
looking.
My guess is we're probably more relaxed. Because we're not in such hasty and
desperate search, it's easier to see what's around you.
It also makes it easier on the rice. When we're relaxed and content to have potatoes, there are no weird
vibes of desperation that may cause rice to run in the opposite direction!
My advice to you is to stop looking, waiting, and hoping for rice. Just enjoy the ingredients you have. I am sure that you have more than enough to make a delicious meal.
And who knows? Maybe someday they'll be throwing rice at you (and some guy with a broom) as the Justice of the Peace looks on.
Regards,
Dr. Julia Chicken
