What Makes a Good Leader?

One thing's for sure, being a follower is not what makes a good leader! You know the old "if your friends jumped off a bridge" adage, right? Then again, the one jumping from a bridge isn't that great of a leader either. I mean, it doesn't exactly show good decision-making skills. I would have to say that one of the main qualities of a good leader is to not be afraid to go against the crowd, even if it means contention or strife. Most folks are a bit timid to speak up and say something that might make waves and thus rock the boat. They hate conflict... maybe because they would just rather be "liked". And you know, if you disagree... why that's just disagreeable! In the Asch Conformity Experiments we see some rather unbelievable results. Simple questions were put forth where the correct answer was as plain as the beak on Dr. J's face, and yet at least 1/3 of the participants gave the wrong answer. Why?
