Why do I keep dreaming that I can't find my husband?

Now, where did that man go?

Now, where did that man go?

I have this reoccurring dream that I go on a trip alone, and when I try to call my husband I can not get a hold of him.

It seems that I try in many ways to contact him. I will either continue to go to voice-mail or my phone keeps dying out and then eventually his phone says that it is no longer in service.

There have even been times that I try and call his work place and I am told that he does not want to speak to me.

In addition to all of the failed phone calls, I return home to find out that he has moved and our home is no longer ours.

At that point I am also trying to figure out why and what he did with all of our things and wonder why he would take my personal articles as well.

I am left with nothing and no way to find him.

I know in my dream that he knew where I went, but did not try to contact me. I feel the trip was to be a short one, but after trying to locate him, it turned into a very long time trying to get a hold of him with no avail each time.

Can you help me interpret this reoccurring dream?

Dear Hide and Seeker,

You are very insecure in your relationship.

I say this not because you aren't able to locate your husband, but because you dream that he has left you, has no interest in speaking with you, and even left you homeless and lost!

It also seems to me that you don't trust your husband.

Is there something that's bothering you in particular? Do you feel that your husband doesn't love you or need you?

You know, sometimes we don't want to think about certain things while we're awake, so we suppress them.

When we're asleep, those suppressed thoughts have a better chance of getting our attention - probably because we're too tired to suppress them.

Examine the situation. Are you simply insecure and fearful without any real grounds or is there something fishy in Denmark?

You have to get to the bottom of this. Try thinking and talking about it with your husband... but while you're awake.

If you keep trying to communicate with your husband in your sleep, he may simply ride away on the back of a whale with all your stuff strapped to a sea turtle. Anything is possible in a dream, you know.

Regards,
Dr. Julia
