Working from home should be a great diet plan!

by Rich
(Dallas, PA)

Not a hygiene issue but...

I find when I get in front of my computer I can spend countless hours (I know, an 8 hour work day, right?) and never move from the desk! There are many times when I don't even eat... so, that begs the question... how in the world did I gain so much weight?
Is sitting in front of a computer, even though you are really working hard, considered lethargic? Or could it be the package of Oreos that I woof down when I finally get up and realize that I am hungry after all?!?

No pictures - my little digital doesn't have a wide angle lens!
Seriously, Doc - I need to stop binge eating after breaking my all-day computer daze!

Could there be solution to this?
by: Julia

Hey Rich,
It's an interesting phenomenon isn't it? I know just what you mean. As a musician, I've spent 6 to sometimes 10 hours a day playing! The problem is that I've never been able to find time to eat during the day. I've even tried to "come prepared" with a lunch for when I start feeling hungry. You know, that lunch just sits there until 6 o'clock at night when I look over and realize the bread is stale and the cold glass of milk is...warm. I just never feel hungry while I'm working so intently!

Perhaps we should try to change our schedules so that we work well into the wee hours in the morning. This way, when we have finished, we'll be much too tired to think of food and fall fast asleep. We should start losing some weight real fast then, right!?

Working Into the Wee Hours
by: Wendy

Let me tell you working till the wee hours doesn't cut it either. Because as I am writing this we are headed into the wee hours and I am stuffing a banana walnut muffin down. I need another solution.

Maybe we should stop grocery shopping all together. ;)

All this talk about food...
by: Lora (admin)

Is still not making me hungry!

I'm with Rich and Julia when it comes to not eating when I'm working.

But... I have servants (my children) bring me tea or coffee every hour or so. But Wendy gave me an idea.

I think I'll keep the servants awake past their bedtime so that they can bring me muffins now too.
